Our Girl Grace

Okay, this is exactly how I feel and it’s not even my turn yet!! Referrals were due out last week around September 21st. Today is September 30th and nothing, a big fat nothing!! The Chinese have left on holiday and won’t be back for a week. Great So we wait.. and wait some more! Just when I feel we are moving along.. up pops the road block. Why couldn’t they have sent the referrals before they left on holiday???? GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

I am a bit cranky this month about the whole adoption thing. It probably doesn’t help that today I am off to have a root canal. Did I ever mention how much I hate and I mean hate, going to the dentist. Should be more fun than one can imagine. I feel bad for the dentist and the staff, I am not a good patient. My cousin once told me that they put a black mark/box on your chart when you are a pain in the a** patient. Go ahead put two big old black boxes on my file! I was lying in bed last night thinking about my phobia of the dentist and the pain or discomfort associated with it. My mind wandered to thoughts of my daughter who is most likely born and living in an orphanage. It began to hit me that she probably doesn’t get a good night kiss, she most likely doesn’t get held a whole lot, she is probably lying on a wicker mat and probably gets minimal comforting and loving. And then I realized, I’m complaining about a root canal, look what she has had to endure in her short life. I decided I am going to do my best to SUCK IT UP, and think of Grace lying in her crib in the orphanage, waiting for her MaMa and BaBa to come get her and make it all better. How brave my little one must be and how much she has missed in her already short life. Today, I will be brave for my daughter.

I found this set called Pink Pagoda a couple of weeks ago and I can’t seem to get it off my mind. I already purchased the quilt and curtains for Grace’s room but have not put them up yet. The set is beautiful and expensive, tempting…..

Well, I missed our LID Anniversary again this month. Not sure what that says?? Yesterday our paperwork officially hit the 41st month of sitting in a pile somewhere in the matching room. I can only imagine the huge layer of dust on it. I am feeling a bit more at peace this month. I am hoping that when referrals come out this month it will give us a pretty good indication of where we are going to be with our referral. I am so hoping and praying for a November referral and to travel over Christmas. Everything would work out so well, it that were to happen. It has been a busy weekend around here. We took B to college on Thursday and went back on Saturday to watch the football game, check in with him and take him out to eat. Today I went shopping for a rain coat for him and sent off his first “college care package” which included the rain gear. I keep expecting him to come through the door. We will see him in a couple of weeks.
