Our Girl Grace

Happy New Year! This year 2009 marks the year of the Ox. Let’s pray this is our year to travel to receive our daughter!! We had a few friends over yesterday to celebrate. I forgot to get my camera out until towards the end of the night, but I’ll post pictures soon!!!

Referrals are out just as we suspected before the Chinese New Year. However, the early rumors of the much needed and anticipated speed up proved once again to be false!! The box at CCAA hasn’t changed according to our agency and rumor queen, but it looks as though they only got through 2 days. They matched families with LID of March 1st and March 2nd 2006. These two days had very few families LID. We are down to 36 days!! Remember, March is supposed to be a killer month, especially March 3rd, 7th and 21st. I pray they will finish up March in the next 5-6 months and we will receive our referral September or October. As previously stated the sooner the better!! Thanks for the prayers and well wishes.

Rumor Queen is reporting today that matching has begun for referrals! And even bigger part of the news is that they could get to 3-23-06 for referrals!!That would be 23 days!! That would be fantastic!! I would be beyond words!!!!!!!!! I so want to believe!!! CCAA please, please, please!!

The US Post Office has released the second in their series of Chinese New Year stamps. This year the Chinese New Year Celebration starts on January 26th. It is the Year of The Ox. Still trying to decide how we will celebrate. We may continue our tradition of having family and friends over and catering in Chinese Food. Last year we added some fun twists with games and trivia questions about our adoption. It was very funny!! I guess I better get going and buy these stamps and get the invites out!

Today marks the 33rd month that our dossier has been logged into the CCAA in China.

We are log in days away from receiving our referral. March 2006 is reported to be a monster of a month. It may take anywhere from 7-8 months to get through it. There are rumors that the CCAA may only match one day for several months. It took them from September 2008 to January 2009 to get through the month of February 2006, that’s 5 months. We are hoping for a referral in October or November, sooner would work as well. We are praying to receive our referral this year!
We are in the process of renewing all of our documents. We have our 3rd home study visit scheduled for next week. Our fingerprints expire again in August. That will make 4 trips to the secret fingerprinting facility! Hopefully our last! We also have a meeting next week with our agency, we think they maybe downsizing! Just as long as they don’t close!! I don’t think I could take anymore!! Please keep your prayers and well wishes coming!!
