A Red Thread Kind of Day!

jitcrunchaspx.jpg

For many of you who read our site you have seen or heard about the legend of the invisible red thread. For those of you are not familiar with the legend, the Chinese believe that there is a red thread that connects those who are destined to meet, and that the thread may stretch but will never break. We adoptive parents feel that this thread connects us to our soon to be children. Well today has been a stellar red thread day here at the Lucky Ladybug Shop. Our friend Molly who is adopting Lili from China in 6, yes six days stopped into the shop today. With everything that she has going on, leaving for China in 6 days to get their daughter, she still thought of us. She brought in the most adorable photo album, it has a Mom and a Dad Ladybug pushing a baby carriage. Too Cute. Thank you Molly for thinking of us especially during this busy time. She seemed so calm and together, I am sure I will be a wreak when our time comes. As we said good bye to each other and I wished her safe travels, I commented that next time we see each other she will be a Mom of three. Just talking about it made both of us well up in tears. All the best to Molly, her Mother in Law and their son Nick who is traveling to China. And best wishes to Chris-Dad who will be home with Lainey, Lili’s soon to be big sister. Blessing to the family and to Lili who waits in China for her forever family!
While Molly was visiting today one of my consignors, Heather stopped in, she wanted to ask me a question….. she was telling a friend about our shop and the women asked her if we were adopting a baby from China. The woman has a 5 year old daughter she adopted from China. She told Heather that from the name of the shop she was sure we were adopting. So, Heather stopped in to check it out. Sure enough the gal was right. And to make that red thread even more evident, Molly knows the gal and her daughter. Heather said the gal would love to meet me and was going to take my card and encourage her to call or stop into the shop. I can’t wait to meet another family who has been touched by adoption.

And our red thread grows stronger and longer……

Celebrating the Moon Festival or Mid Autumn Festival in China!

moon2.jpg mooncake1.jpg

These are the traditional Chinese Moon Cakes. We tried them last year from China Sprout. They arrived in beautiful packaging, the taste well, let’s just say they weren’t the biggest hit at our Moon Festival celebration. Everyone did however try at least one taste. Hopefully we will have Grace home for the 2008 Moon Festival.

Remembering September 11, 2001

911_world_trade_center.jpg

Today, September 11th we remember one of the worst days in American history. We remember all the Grandfathers, Grandmothers, Mothers, Fathers, Sons and Daughters that never came home that day. May their treasured memories help to ease the pain of this day and everyday. And we say Thank You to all who worked so hard during the recovery efforts. And a special and personal thank you to my cousin, Lt. Louis Raimondi of Rescue 5 in New York. We are so thankful that you are still here with us today. As Americans we must never forget the horror of this day and how it touched everyone of our lives.

Happy 17th Month LID Anniversary!!

samp2804a56680417c8a17th.jpg

We have now hit the 17 month mark of our paper work being LID to China. Referrals came out last week and the CCAA matched four, yes, 4 Days worth of referrals. They matched November 22nd through November 25, 2005. Our LID is April 7, 2006. Hopefully they will be able to get well into December before this year is over. I really feel like we are going to get our referral in June. Sooner would be great. I want to be able to bring our daughter home before the Olympics start. I don’t think the agencies will have too many groups going during August of 2008. Just like last month, our wait continues. Thank you to all who ask how things are going, we appreciate the love and support of all.
