Look Out Dora here comes Kai-lan!!!

This fall millions of preschoolers will learn that “Nai Hao” means “Hello” in Mandarin as Nickelodeon Television introduces them to Chinese culture and language on Nick Jr’s groundbreaking new animated series Ni Hao, Kai-Lan. On Monday, October 22nd they will premiere the half-hour, play along series in which 2-5 year olds will have the opportunity to learn Mandarin words and phrases–a first for preschool television. Nai Hao, Kai-Lan series will feature a Chinese American intergenerational family. Through the eyes of a 5 year old Chinese-American girl named Kai-Lan, the series explores the colorful aspects of her upbringing and background, her relationship with her family and friends and the world around her. Ni Hao, Kai-Lan will take preschoolers on a joyful exploration of Mandarin language and Chinese culture, while helping them to identify their emotions and learn coping mechanisms to deal with their feelings.

We can’t wait to see the show and all the merchandise that comes with it, and to learn Mandarin!

WE HAVE OFFICIALLY BEEN LID FOR 15 MONTHS.. HOW LONG IS ETERNITY?

15TH MONTH LID ANNIVERSARY!!!!

Well another month has gone by, our dossier has now been in China for 15 months. We did have a milestone this past month with our dossier moving from the review room to the matching room. We like that!! Now we wait for our turn in the review room. Referrals came out yesterday, the CCAA gave referrals to families who had LID dates from November 8th to November 14th, that is only 7 days worth of referrals. At that rate with 144 days until our LID and if the CCAA keeps up at 7 days each month we still have a 20.5 MONTH WAIT. I really hope that is not that case, I guess all I can do is continue to pray that the CCAA will pick up their pace and match those babies with their forever families.
Congratulations to all those who received their referrals yesterday and today. Unfortunately our agency’s next group missed the cut off by 4 days but guess what they are next! What a cool place to be and just think you are only about 30 days away from seeing your new little ones!!
I was very fortunate to meet a young family who is using our agency for their second adoption. They are home visiting family and got the call that there is a baby for them. Can you feel the tears, how exciting. They came to visit family from out of town and got the call…. now that is the power of the Holy Spirit at work!!! They are going to see the baby today. We wish them all the best and hope it all goes just as they want.
