Well, it is official, we are out of the review room where we sat for 190 days, (that’s about 6 months) but we made it through with no questions asked of anyone in our group which is great! We are now on our way to the matching room. The matching room is where they review our requests and try to match our daughter with us. Remember they have matched families with LID’s up to November 7, 2005. Our LID is April 7, 2006, so we have a ways to go. When they match up to our LID, we will then receive our daughters referral photos and information! And then we wait some more for our travel approval and consulate appointments and then we go to China. We are praying that the CCAA will speed up the referral process. Remember they used to refer 30 days at at time when we started this process. Lately, it has been 6-12 days.
Last night Paul and I went to visit our friends Blaine and Kristin, who came home about 2 months ago from China with their daughter, Tessa. What a beauty she is, she has adjusted so well and is so bright. Kristin and Blaine are doing a great job, they all seem so happy and it is if they have had Tessa from day one. She is smiling, running around their house, has started swim lessons and can even do head, shoulders, knees and toes! What a beautiful Forever Family. We wish them much love! And thank you to Kristin and Blaine, they brought Paul and I home the most beautiful hand painted book markers with our names in Chinese. I don’t think we’ll be putting them between any pages of any books, I think I will frame them. That was so thoughtful of them to think of us, while in China. Thanks guys, we will treasure them as we do your friendship! They were also kind enough to share their don’t bring and do bring list for China, and they also shared their photos of the trip and Gotcha Day.
It just reinforces that the LONG wait is so worth it……..

A Child’s Right

I found this website while surfing the many adoption blogs. A Child’s Right is an organization dedicated to bringing clean drinking water to children all over the world. Most recently they were in China and visited several orphanages. I have posted the link below. The photos and the story are very moving! It certainly makes you stop and think, how much we take clean water for granted. www.a-childs-right.org/projects.html

Happy Father’s Day!

14 Months and Counting!

Today is our 14th Month LID Anniversary. Our paperwork has been logged into China for 14 long months. And as you can see from the previous post we have many more months to go. The CCAA has matched those families who were LID on or before November 7, 2005. Our LID is April 7, 2006. We are next to come out of the review room. The review room is where the look over your dossier and make sure that it is complete and that you meet all the requirements needed for China. That will be our next milestone. We appreciate all the love, support and prayers as we continue on this journey to bring our daughter home.

Referrals are here!

Only 6, yes six, days worth of referrals. I remember when we started this process they would refer 30 days of LID’s at a time. I guess those days are long gone. Now I pray that they will do at least 15, at that rate it would take us 10 more months to get our referral. At this rate it will take us……………just plain too long. We had hoped to see that our group would at least be out of review by this time, but no such luck. So we wait……. Please, please CCAA pick up your pace and get those babes home to their forever families. We want our children. We need all the prayers and positive wishes we can get. Congratulations to all the families who received their referrals!
